Advanced Space Academy for Educators Day 2: The wheels on the bus go round and round

Thursday, June 21, 2012

We started the day with breakfast at space camp. We then boarded the bus for the (long) drive from Huntsville, AL to Cape Canaveral, FL. It was funny driving through (actually around) Atlanta since I was so close to home. In Valdosta, we swapped out drivers and continued on our way. We finally made it to our destination a bit before 10 pm. What a day! We were just four minutes shy of a 12-hour journey.

What do you do on the bus? Well, we watched Space Camp the movie, told stories, played games, napped, and shared about our portfolios. The ride actually wasn’t as bad as you might expect!

Our hotel is right by Cape Canaveral, so a few of us took a walk over to some awesome waterfront dining on Port Canaveral. It was a fun evening. Tomorrow, we head to KSC for a rocketry workshop and a tour! Can’t wait. 🙂
