The big day is almost here!

In just a few hours, a couple of amazing, exciting things will be happening!

First, Curiosity will be landing on Mars. The landing is schedule for 1:31 am EDT. However, because of the distance between Earth and Mars and the orientation of the satellites orbiting Mars that will send the signal back to Earth, it could take anywhere from 14 minutes to three days to find out if the landing was successful. I am really hoping for good news when I wake up in the morning, though.

Secondly, tomorrow is the first day of school! It’s hard to believe the big day is already here. It’s going to be an incredible year. My plans are ready for the first week, my copies are made, my classroom is decorated, and I’m set to get started. Our schedule looks a little different this year. We have longer classes and planning at the end of the day. I think this will be a great benefit for students. It will take a little while to get used to, but I’m ready for this new adventure.

Are you ready?
