When you get such good news all you are is speechless!

I got a text from my friend Krissy today  that said:

[important]See you girls in Houston! NASA just called me!!!!!!!!![/important]

At the beginning of the month, I applied for the NASA MicroGravity eXperience with Krissy and three other amazing educator friends from Advanced Space Academy. (Krissy and I had applied in December of 2011, but we were not chosen then.)

So today was the day we were supposed to find out – and it was good news! Since it is a keep on trying, don’t give up story, I am so especially excited for this opportunity. Plus, getting a chance to go on a weightless flight makes me feel like I’m one step closer to being an astronaut. (A girl can dream – and Dare Mighty Things!)

But I also feel a bit shocked and speechless! I’m headed to Houston in July for a reduced gravity flight. How cool is that! Of course we celebrated with a Google Hangout – you can easily see how excited we all are. I can’t believe this is really happening. It’s amazing when dreams keep coming true!

A very happy group of soon to be weightless flyers!

I love the thought it was SPACE that brought all of us together. I cannot wait to share this amazing journey with you all. Sending that text was the BEST text I have ever got to send, because I knew I was sending it to four others who would be so thrilled to see it. DARE MIGHTY THINGS!
Enjoying the inspiration on your blog!
    See you in Houston. 😉

    1. Thanks, Krissy! Team Kennedy is a seriously amazing group to be a part of. I am so glad we all met each other. It’s amazing that a group of teachers so spread out across the world keeps finding ways and reasons to see each other – and a full year hasn’t even passed yet! It’s too bad all teachers can’t have a Team Kennedy of their own.
