Last Friday, I received some amazing news: I’m headed back to Space Camp in Huntsville, AL this summer! This time, I’ll be taking part in Honeywell’s Advanced Space Academy for Educators. It’s a 9 day program that includes time at Space Camp and time at Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
I’m so excited to find out what we’ll be learning this summer. From friends who have already attended and gleaning information off the web, I know we’ll be doing some robotics, advanced missions, and go for a swim in the training tank.
I feel incredibly blessed to have been chosen to attend again this year. The advanced program application consists of submitting a portfolio of how you’ve implemented in your classroom, school, and community the information you learned at space camp. Since I was just there last summer, I wasn’t sure there was time to do enough to be accepted this year. Especially since I’ve done even more things since I submitted my application.
I just can’t quite believe it. It’s a dream come true – again!!
