Space Camp Diaries: Preparing for launch to Advanced Academy!

I am heading to Honeywell’s Advanced Space Academy for Educators on Tuesday! I am so excited. I have already had a chance to get to know some of my teammates through the awesome power of social media. In fact, I had already “met” one of my teammates through Twitter a while ago.

Last year when I was at space academy, I tweeted everything we did, and I also completed a series of blog posts about my experiences. I will be doing the same thing this year. You can follow the hashtag #HESA2012 for tweets about the experience from me as well as all of the other tweeting participants.

I am totally copying my teammate Krissy Venosdale’s Letters from Space Camp idea and introducing my own Space Camp Diaries. I’ll be posting a series of updates throughout the experience of advanced academy in addition tweeting. I hope you’ll follow along on our journeys.

I know I will be inspired while I am at space academy, and I hope you are, too. If you are a 5-9 grade STEM teacher, you definitely need to check out this program. Applications are open from October-December every year. I hope you’ll be inspired to apply. It’s space camp, and I haven’t you always dreamt of going to space camp?
